Its chemical composition, consisting of alcohols C16-18 and C18-unsaturated, ethoxylated, imparts nonionic surfactant and emulsifier functionalities to this substance. Plurafac® SLF 180 is a low-foaming surfactant with a cloud point of 18®C and is listed on EPAs Safer Chemical Ingredients List. It is suitable for low temperature cleaning (45®C or lower) and has very good synergy with Pluronic N3, especially when used as a rinse aid in low temperature warewash machines. Final surfactant choice will be formulation dependent.

Plurafac® LF-224 is a low-foaming nonionic surfactant composed of predominantly unbranched fatty alcohols alkoxylated with higher alkene oxides and ethylene oxide. Its most important properties are wetting, low-foaming, or even defoaming, making it an excellent choice for controlling foam, particularly when used in combination with Glucopon® surfactant and Deriphat® 160 C.

It is also used as a medium foam behavior agent, a hydrophobic or hydrophilic modifier, and for electroplating as a surfactant or wetting agent. Lutensol® ON 110 can modify surfaces to be hydrophilic and is compatible with paraffinic, naphthenic, aromatic, triglyceride, and silicone oils.
