We are not aware of any ill effect that can result from using Sokalan® CP 7 for the purpose for which it is intended and from processing it in accordance with current practices. According to the experience that we have gained over many years and other information at our disposal, Sokalan® CP 7 does not exert harmful effects on health, provided it is used properly, due attention is given to the precautions necessary for handling chemicals, and the information and advice given in our Safety Data Sheets are observed.

Storage & Handling

Storage Condition
     
  1. Sokalan® CP 7 should be stored indoors in a dry place in its original sealed packaging. Storage rooms must have a maximum temperature of + 25°C. Drums and IBCs must be resealed after each time they are opened.

  3. Sokalan® CP 7 is hazy in appearance when freshly produced and becomes clear under normal circumstances within approx. 6 weeks.

  5. Sokalan® CP 7 is frost sensitive! The storage temperature must be between min. + 5°C and max. + 25°C. Storage temperatures below + 5°C destroy the product properties. This is an irreversible process. Storage temperatures above + 25°C will cause an increase of the color number.

  7. The storage temperature must not fall below + 5°C. The congealing point of Sokalan® CP 7 also needs to be taken into accout. The product is frost sensitive!

  9. At low temperatures the product becomes slightly cloudy. The product becomes liquid again at max. + 25°C. It must be mixed sufficiently prior to use. Sokalan® CP 7 tends to separate, settlement of the polymer or skinning of surface with time. This is no negative effect for using the product, it's properties or thickening efficiency. Sokalan® CP 7 must be protected from sunlight and high temperatures to avoid discolaration and the formation of surface films.

  11. Sokalan® CP 7 must be blanketed with nitrogen if it is stored in heated tanks (at max. + 25°C) to prevent air contact. Constant, gentle stirring helps to prevent it being discolored as a result of prolonged contact with electrical elements or external heating coils.

  13. Sokalan® CP 7 should be stored in heated tanks at max. + 25°C to avoid a dark color.

  a) Stainless steel 1.4541 - AISI 321 (X6 CrNITi 18-10)
  b) Stainless steel 1.4571 - AISI 316 Ti (X6 CrNiMoTi 17-12-2)
  c) Stainless steel 1.4306 - AISI 304 L (2 CrNi 19-11)
  d) HDPE - high density polyethylene
  e) LDPE - low density polyethylene 

 

 

 

Shelf Life:

 

Provided, the product is stored properly and drums/containers are kept tightly sealed, it has a shelf life of at least 24 months in its original packaging.
